Coasting through Melbourne’s incredible music scene, Olivia Escuyos’ originality, style and flare have drawn us in like a moth to a flame, and she is bound to do the same to you too. We caught up with Olivia deep in the concrete jungle of Melbourne’s CBD to discuss fashion, music & influence.
Tell us a little about your work in music:
Olivia: I am a singer/songwriter, vocal producer and coach. I have worked on various projects for artists locally and internationally. Right now I'm focusing more on my own projects and have a single that has just been released titled'Got Me (Feelin' Like)'. This single is definitely a culmination of all the work my team and I atHidden Sun have put towards finding my sound and staying true to my core. I've never been so excited to release a song like this one!
For those who don’t know you, what things are most important to you?
Olivia: The most important things to me are the people I hold close to my heart, my craft (creating music and singing), self-care, and always having gratitude for being able to live life!
Your IG feed and outfitting choices should be on everybody’s mood-board. We’re obsessed. What’s the importance of fashion and styling to you as a creative?
Olivia: Haha, I'm very flattered that you think so! For me, having other creative channels aside from your main one is super important in the evolution of your craft. We are inspiration seekers so anything that can creatively stimulate you is worth dabbling into. For me, that is fashion. Fashion ties into music as it further aids with the expression of your true self.
Who is your biggest influence when it comes to style?
Olivia: Like many, I get a lot of my fashion inspo from IG. I have too many people that influence my style but off the top of my head I can think of a girl calledSami Miró.
Her style is something I always go back to for inspo. Every time!
If you had 60 seconds in your wardrobe to pick your go-to outfit, what would you choose?
Olivia: SWEAT. SUIT. JORDANS. CUTE BAG. REPEAT!
Who was your Spotify Wrapped Top Artist of 2021?
Olivia: I'm pretty sure my Spotify Wrapped artist of the year was John Mayer! Haha!
What can we expect to see from you for the rest of 2021?
I'm working on new projects, visuals & even more fashion stuff so stay tuned!
